As you may recall, each year the parish meeting pays around £40 to host this site. This fee is due by September 3rd and the meeting / village needs to decide if they want to pay it for another year. Since there is a village meeting on Sept 11th, this payment will be discussed then. Hosting will be turned off on Sept 3rd until a decision is made. Dear Villagers, my article on the village website has thrown up further questions about the future of Thornham Walks. I would like to take this opportunity to clarify things.
Thornham Walks has secured enough funding for the present financial year, and has three quarters of the funding in place for the next financial year, (2011-2012). At our last Steering Group meeting a week ago it was agreed that the Walks would continue in its present format and I would use my time to secure as much funding for the Walks as possible. Although Mid Suffolk District Council will not be giving any financial support from April 2011 they are still very keen to remain involved with Thornham Walks and support us in other ways, such as, admin support, funding advice/guidance and budget/banking.
Suffolk will be holding a open drop-in session for anyone wishing to find out
more about the proposed refurbishment of the existing Hartismere hospital.
You are welcome to come along to the hospital’s project meeting room between 2pm
and 6pm on Friday 3 September to learn more about this exciting
Light refreshments will be provided.
