The Thornhams each have a beautiful parish church: St. Mary Magdalene Thornham Magna and St. Mary Thornham Parva  form part of the South Hartismere benefice which in addition includes Mellis, Gislingham, Yaxley, Stoke Ash with Thwaite, Thorndon with Rishangles, and Wetheringsett cum Brockford. The staff are currently as follows:

Thornham Magna church is actively supported by The Friends of St Mary Magdalene, chair: Lorna Polke, 01379 678409, membership secretary: Jennifer Vaudrey, 01379 783761.
The Clergy are the first point of contact regarding weddings, baptisms and funerals.
The current monthly pattern of services is
Ist Sunday:  Thornham Parva  8.30am Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer)2nd Sunday: Thornham Magna 10.45am Sung Eucharist3rd Sunday:  Thornham Parva  10.30am Sung Eucharist4th Sunday:  Thornham Magna  8.30am Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer).
For services elsewhere in the benefice see the church notice boards or the South Hartismere website where there is a calendar which is usually kept up to date .

Church Bike Ride

Church Lead

Theft of lead from a stained glass window and from a church roof has been reported as part of three separate incidents involving thefts from rural churches in Suffolk recently. The first incident was reported on Friday 22nd January, as having occurred between the 19th and 22nd January, two further incidents were reported on Saturday 23rd January.

Harvest Festival

Harvest Festival is on Sunday the 11th October, the church service
is at 11.0 and we will be joined by our new young curate, Revd.
Christopher Robinson. Lunch will follow in the Village Hall at around
12.30. All are very welcome at either event – the lunch is for
everyone, not just church-goers, and we would like to welcome as many
from Thornham as possible. Lunch is £7.50 [children £2.50], please ring
788130 to let us know you ae coming.
