Ride Horses? I've just received a call from the new community watch liason officer (Phil Kemp) and he asked me to pass on some information.... There have been several thefts of horse related kit in the area - in particular, saddles. Obviously saddles cost several hundred pounds and other equipment can soon add up in terms of value, so please keep expensive equipment like this locked up safely - preferably securely at home. It may be somewhat inconvenient to have to take your equipment home or lock it up securely but it'll be more inconvenient to lose it! Click for details ...
GISLIINGHAM POST OFFICE: LATEST--2 July
Written by Anne Warburton

The very earliest that the Gislingham Post Office can actually be closed is October. Following last week's announced Post Office decision, there now has to be a period of public consultation and further PO decision-making, followed by one month's notice to close. No "outreach" facilities have yet been identified.

What can we do? USE THE POST OFFICE as much as we can in this period. New user statistics just might make a difference.

No change since the last report in July. The Post Office remain set on closing Gislingham, but have not found a permanent alternative and have said nothing will happen before New Year. Using it may still help.

November 17: The news that certain services which were to be contracted out are to remain with Post Offices will, I understand, not change the position for Gislingham noted above, since it is among the Post Offices already listed for closure.
