The Post Office has now announced its "final decision... that Gislingham Post Office will be closed on a permanent basis". It is made quite clear that closure is not subject to re-consultation, but the previous local public consultation is cited as one reason for the decision now to carry out a further such consultation before a final decision on the appropriate Outreach Service to replace this branch.
The new proposal is a Mobile Service in Gislingham for
approximately 10 hours weekly. It is proposed that the vehicle be
positioned in Westview Gardens between 11.30 and 1.30 on Monday to
Friday. The standard range of services would be available. Bacton (4
miles away) is the principal alternative suggested at other times.
This consultation will close on 2 March: to be considered, comments must be received by then. Letters to be addressed to:
Laura Tarling,
Network deveopment Manager,
Freepost Consultation Team.
