The image below is of a trap found clamped around a cat's leg in the village just yesterday :( I have to confess to being no great fan of cats but if there's a less humane way to deal with pests then it's hard to imagine. I'm relatively certain these traps are illegal in the UK these days, and with good reason, but I suppose there are still plenty in use. This one won't be being used again thankfully having had one of its jaws removed but be warned - obviously somebody local has no qualms about setting these odious traps and inflicting immense pain / suffering at random. It could be your cat / dog next...

Playground - Change of Use Planning Application

A change of use application has been submitted to Mid Suffolk DC's planning department by Thornham Walks, requesting that a 0.09 ha parcel of Estate-owned land be converted from agricultural to recreational use.
Tina Schwarz has registered objections on behalf of the Parish Meeting stating that the planning application 'documents have been circulated around the village'.
