A change of use application has been submitted to Mid Suffolk DC's planning department by Thornham Walks, requesting that a 0.09 ha parcel of Estate-owned land be converted from agricultural to recreational use.
Tina Schwarz has registered objections on behalf of the Parish Meeting stating that the planning application 'documents have been circulated around the village'.

Before the fenceline was moved ~10m
After the fenceline was moved ~10m
The key question the planning department will give consideration to is does the conversion of this 0.09 ha of land from agricultural to recreational use impact on the land around it positively or negatively?
All representations made will be given consideration by the Planning Committee as long as they reach them by the committee date, which is likely to be 28th September 2011 despite the fact that the web-site says the statutory 3 week public consultation period is over.
Background: due to concerns raised by a local resident, the playground was relocated 3 times and eventually built on what was formerly an area of land used for recreation and leisure, ie picnicking and freeplay activities, such as ball games.
Thornham Estate generously made available additional land by allowing the project to move the fenceline over by ~10m, so that visitors to Thornham Walks would continue to have a picnic and leisure facility, particularly as some visitors prefer to sit away from any noise.
Please take the time to e-mail in your views on this to the local planning department.
