Planning
Mid Suffolk try to email their complete weekly list on Fridays to the
Parish Clerks. They do not flag up local applications, although they do
inform neighbours and erect notices.
This information can be seen on the MSDC planning page
http://planning.midsuffolk.gov.uk/planning/acolnetcgi.gov
where you can search under Weekly List Search. Parishes and dates can be specified, or left blank to see complete lists.

Suffolk Association of Local Councils has today received information about a major development. It is likely that many councils will already be aware of these proposals but given their potentially widespread impact and the fact that the proposals include onshore above ground electric lines, the information is provided to ensure your council has an opportunity to respond and/or monitor developments if it so wishes.
A major proposal for a 504 megawatt extension to the Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm (an offshore wind farm located 27 km SE of Sizewell) is planned. This will entail, among other things, up to 140 195m high wind turbines and onshore cables running west, south of Sizewell Gap and then north or west to an electrical substation. At this stage the consultation is about the Statement of Community Consultation and runs from 13 June 2011 to 14 July 2011. It should be noted that there are also anticipated proposals for a new nuclear facility at Sizewell. Clearly, both proposals will have a significant impact on the immediate communities but will also have an impact on the wider Suffolk community. Both will also be controversial with potentially divisive consequences.
As both the wind farm and nuclear power plant proposals are major developments of national significance, they will be dealt with through the new Infrastructure Planning Commission process. Information on this can be found at http://infrastructure.independent.gov.uk/ .
