Monday 29^th June and a resounding victory over archrival’s St Botolphs. The only rink to go down was Laurie’s, something of a rarity lately, but they were up against the dreaded David Brown and his side- kick Stuart Brimlow. Alan C’s rink won sufficiently to compensate for Laurie’s and David C’s result at 31-4 suggests either they were brilliant or St Botolphs were scraping the bottom of the barrel? As for Colin’s rink, they looked to be home and dry at 17 ends and 17-8 up, then it all went wrong when the opposition took advantage of short cots and took 9 shots in 3 end to draw level going into the last end. Fortunately, their lead miscast the cot allowing us to play to our strength by casting a long cot and we won by 1 shot.
