Hi! I'm Sam, and I'm the treasurer for the Parish Meeting. That means that I look after the accounts for the Meeting and make sure that they stay viable. I moved to Thornham Magna 4 years ago, with my partner, Andy, and 3 children.. Natassia, 17, Nathaniel, 14, and Anisha, 4. We live on the Thornham Estate, and love the idyll of this beautiful village. I like walking and cycling and there are plenty of wonderful places around here to do both. I'm finding it quite hard to write about myself.. It's a bit like applying for a job! But hey, it's all good and I intend to do a good job with the accounts... Sara is a tough act to follow! I look forward to meeting more residents as time goes on, and I'm very happy to answer any questions (or try to!) about the accounts. I will be putting a copy of the end of year financial report on this site, but have to check out how 1st!

Verge trimming

Our roadside verges have again been cut while at their most glorious. This includes Water Lane and Clay Street, where no one can argue road safety concerns!

Some targetted trimming on bends and junctions of busier roads may be useful, but universal trimming is still applied, I suggest this is because of outdated anxiety about neatness and tidiness. The unnecessary trimming uses fuel and other resources, blights the appearance of our roads at their most attractive time, destroys wildlife and plant habitats, and is bad for the county's credibility where www.greensuffolk.org is not alone in encouraging joined-up landscape initiatives.
