Further to the Thornham Parish meeting in June, a committee has been put together to write a grant application for funding to meet the cost of the following:
STAGE 1 - Management plans
- audit of community areas as a whole, eg carnser, external community area, churchyard etc
- reinstatement of all neglected areas to a standard that is maintainable and fits in with the rural character of Thornham, ie ‘maintained not manicured’
- an annual and sustainable maintenance plan that will ideally draw on contributions from the village precept, the parochial church committee and the village hall trustees, and some voluntary time and expertise as it is able to be given, and as per the collective wishes of the village itself
STAGE 2 - Tender
STAGE 3 - Implementation
This is only a stage 1 application, but it is hoped that if we are successful, plans to restore our community areas to a manageable state will be made a lot easier, and done a lot sooner. We will keep you advised of the outcome as soon as we know.
